About the project
Due to the boom in online commerce, the demand for high-performance storage and transportation logistics is higher than ever worldwide. The new warehouse of KLP in Serbia is coming at just the right time and is now being used by numerous well-known companies. It offers state-of-the-art logistics infrastructure on an area of 50,000 m2 at a strategically important location in Eastern Europe, just 10 km west of Belgrade. The complex consists of three modern buildings that can be divided into up to ten independent modules, allowing for highly flexible use. The logistics center also scores high in sustainability and energy efficiency: it is certified according to the current LEED standards (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
About the solution
Schrack Seconet has implemented a convincing fire protection concept for this project. All information is collected in three fire alarm control panels, Integral IP CX, which are positioned in each building. They are connected to form a closed fire alarm system via an Integral LAN network.
Powerful X-LINE ring circuits integrate the peripheral devices. They offer a perfect combination of detection and alarm. A total of 200 multisensor detectors MTD 533X are installed. The fire characteristic values smoke and heat are not only measured but also evaluated in conjunction with the respective changes in the environmental conditions. This automatic adjustment of sensitivity ensures that the detector responds more quickly to real fire hazards and is also safe against false alarms.
To monitor the large storage areas, linear smoke detectors Fireray One are used. A transmitter and receiver unit emits an infrared beam just below the hall roof over the entire width of the building onto a reflector. The transmitter and receiver unit measures the intensity of the return signal and can detect any existing smoke particles from it. Thanks to its large range, Fireray One can reliably detect even the smallest amounts of smoke over longer distances.
The detectors were installed at a height of 12 meters to not affect the processes in the warehouse. This installation height is also no problem for Fireray One. The practical auto-alignment function of the detector also allows installation and alignment to be performed eight times faster than with conventional linear smoke detectors.
The entire fire alarm system is displayed centrally and clearly via the Secolog IP operations control system. Schrack Seconet is thus supporting its customer KLP in providing the best conditions for the important economic factor of e-commerce.
