Zimný štadión Ondreja Nepelu
Stadium
About the project
Slovakia’s victory at the ice hockey world championships in 2002 brought the nationwide enthusiasm for this sport to new heights. In 2011, the 75th world championship took place from April 29 to May 15 at two locations in Bratislava and Kosice. This is the reason why the ice hockey stadium of the Slovak capital, which was opened already in 1940, has undergone an overall refurbishment. During spring of 2009 the work at the old-established arena, which had seated about 8,000 visitors, started. After the expansion the stadium caters to the needs of 10,000 ice hockey fans.
About the solution
For the protection of the audience, Schrack Seconet equiped the stadium, through the local partner company ENGIE Services, with a network of three Integral IP fire alarm panels and more than 2000 fire detectors. In addition, 20 smoke aspiration systems provide utmost security. This project proves once again that Schrack Seconet is perfectly prepared with equipment, which meets all international standards and requirements for high-capacity buildings with security- and fire alarm-systems.
