About the project
Nordseterhjemmet nursing home is situated in the southern part of the city of Oslo – in the most affluent area. With nearly 50,000 residents, it's second most populated district. The nursing home has four small somatic nursing departments with 31 beds, a screening unit for dementia with 28 beds and separate dining room/kitchen, a special care department with 14 beds, a day center with 25 beds, and a few common living areas like a games room and a gym. The building was completed in 1985.
About the solution
In 2011, the Nursing Home Administration in Oslo municipality began working with the company NESK and Schrack Seconet installed the nursing home's Visocall IP system. Nordseterhjemmet was the first of 15 nursing homes in Oslo to be equipped with Visocall IP. The communication platform has been able to meet all requirements Oslo municipality had concerning: an IP-health care system, integration to IP-based automation and building management system, IP-dect system, remote access, and multi touch terminal etc.
The four-storey building has more than 100 beds. Each room has been fitted with a switch SWI9, connection module SM, push button BT-IP, a room terminal with display ZT-B, and a pull button ZT-IO in the toilet. Nordseterhjemmet now also has two test/pilot rooms that include a communication nursing home references terminal KMT, patient hadset PAT and diagnostic module DM. Each corridor has a double display TXT-2D and ward rooms have been fitted with a ward terminal DZT-IP. Patients can now also use wireless receivers with transmitters and mobile pressure mats, designed for the bed and floor, connected to the Visocall IP system.
