Intelligent in every detail
Paper factory Hamburger
Fire safety is particularly relevant in the paper industry. The Hamburger facility in Pitten, Lower Austria, implemented a tailor-made solution that exactly meets the requirements of the industrial operation: An intelligent control station controls the detection as well as the fighting of a fire, and the Integral Mobile app guarantees the most up-to-date information at all times.
"A custom-made system that's easy to use, despite its size."

A fire alarm system like a tailor-made suit
From a regular fire alarm system to a complex overall concept that uses the latest technical opportunties – the paper factory in Pitten, Lower Austria, followed every detail, step by step. Along with developing the production site further, Hamburger has been continuously investing in fire safety for 20 years. Steadily, a factory-wide solution was developed for a variety of production processes, which also integrated peripheral areas with a high number of detection elements, many special solutions and complex fire control systems.
Real-time information
The control station clearly displays all system statuses. Direct operating procedures are also available. Helpful additional information for action forces, fire protection officers and employees have also been stored, such as details about keys or special protective equipment. This information can be entered and updated by authorised users.
"The graphic representation of all fire safety plans of our plant, with numerous stored active functions, is an absolutely profitable tool", underlined Andreas Eichberger, Fire Safety Engineer in Hamburger.
More operating convenience and overview
Due to the ongoing expansions, the technical options for the fire alarm system were exhausted and no longer very user-friendly. It was time to implement a new, future-oriented concept: The existing solution was upgraded to a network with two superordinated and six subordinated control units. The second milestone was a SecoLOG IP control station, which now controls a total of 38 extinguishing zones.
"This improvement included a custom-made system that is easy to use, despite its size. Entire extinguishing zones with different detector zones and outputs can now be operated at the touch of a button. This also minimises operating errors," says Kurt Maierhofer from Technical Customer Service at Schrack Seconet.
Expansion to include Integral Mobile
The latest innovation at Hamburger is the Integral Mobile implementation. Users now receive real-time information throughout the extensive factory premises and can operate the system directly on site.
"The fire alarm system's real-time current information, for any situation status, gives us a decisive time advantage during an emergency", underlined Andreas Eichberger in Hamburger.
For the protection of people and values.
