Advanced information management
Fast and well-targeted transfer of information – that’s the most important requirement an alarm system today has to meet, in particular if its task is the protection of people and property. For only then can the recipients of information respond in the way expected from them: efficiently, flexibly and to the point.
Transmission of events to your mobile phone by means of text messages
For some time now Schrack Seconet fire alarm panels have been offering the feature to transmit events, such as alarm and error messages or maintenance requests, to the mobile phones of the persons responsible by means of text messages.
In line with Schrack Seconet’s philosophy, this function is now also web-based. TAS-Link is the name of the new tool, connected via LAN to the fire alarm panel by a system interface. “In this way the respective information and alarms with all additional information, such as detailed positioning data, can be transmitted immediately after the occurrence of events in the fire alarm system," says product manager René Türk. "It does not matter at all where the contact person of the system operator is at the time, for they will get a text message with detailed information to their mobile phone.
Immediately after the fire alarm panel has registered an event, the related information is transmitted to the TAS-Link. The system interface of the TAS-Link converts it into a text message and sends it to the specified mobile phone numbers. “Apart from the fast transmission of information, the benefit of TAS-Link is that it can be easily configured by means of a user-friendly GUI and that therefore interface adaptations can be implemented fast,” says René Türk, explaining the advantages of the new system.
In addition to information transmitted directly via TAS-Link from the fire alarm panel by means of a text message, the service can be used also with the new control station SecoLOG IP. In this case, configuration is performed in the control station. For this purpose, SecoLOG IP has been equipped with an interface to the platform www.blaulichtsms.at, which is also used by emergency forces.
René Türk on the question of whether the use of text messages might not be seen as an anachronism: “The great advantage of a text message is that it is device-independent. Other than push messages from apps, text messages can be received by mobile phones of all generations. Therefore this technology is still used very successfully.“
