The mobile duty room
Hospital communication has also long since become part of the service economy: sophisticated features supplement the communication platform VISOCALL IP with new applications that offer patients, doctors and care personnel even greater safety and convenience. Alongside the classic call system, RFID-based special calls are possible so that, for example, the patient could order a newspaper from the kiosk, fresh tea or an additional cushion from the care personnel directly via the patient terminal. Doctors could also insert their “service ID” into an RFID-based patient terminal and call specialised colleagues or request general assistance in emergencies.
Fully informed on the go
A real highlight is the mobile duty room: this new app, which will be presented for the first time from 13 to 16 November 2017 at MEDICA in Düsseldorf, offers a full overview of everything happening on the ward, even while on the go. All the hospital personnel need is an Android mobile phone or tablet. The mobile duty room displays everything that is displayed on the staff terminal at the nursing station. Calls can be received and staff can react while on the go, if necessary. A mobile voice connection with the affected patients is also possible.
The new app functions on a ward-by-ward basis. This means that calls are displayed when the mobile phone or tablet is located in the same WLAN as the staff terminal or ward. This avoids overlaps between different departments - the calls displayed for the respective recipient are always current and relevant. The mobile duty room will be launched on the market in spring 2018 as part of the VISOCALL IP 6.1 software release.
While on their rounds, the hospital personnel always have the full range of functions of the staff terminal with them, thanks to the mobile duty room.
- Calls can be responded to on the go via mobile phone or tablet and the patients can be communicated with.
- Efficient communication solutions provide more convenience, satisfaction and safety in the hospital.
