National Arena Bukarest
About the project
National Arena, the largest Romanian football stadium, facilitates 55.600 seats and is equipped with the retractable roof that weights 2.000 tons and can be moved within 15 minutes. It opened on the 6th of September in 2011, replacing the former arena from 1953. Being qualified as a UEFA Elite Stadium (category 4), National Arena hosted the 2012 UEFA Europa League Final games of Romania’s national football team, as well as the Romanian Cup and Supercup final.
About the solution
Schrack Seconet’s great reputation for equipping football stadiums with fire alarm systems (Ernst Happel in Vienna, Stozice in Ljubljana, UEFA EURO 2012 stadiums in Gdansk, Warsaw and Poznan) convinced the Municipality of Bucharest to invest into the 2.500 MTD 533X detectors, six Integral fire alarm panels and two high-end control panels which offer reliable security of more than 55.000 people at the National Arena in Bucharest. The local partner company began installation works in autumn 2010 and finished well in advance of the opening date.
