MIC Datenverarbeitung GmbH

About the project

MIC Datenverarbeitung GmbH, headquartered in Linz, Upper Austria, is a leading global provider of software solutions for global customs management and trade compliance. Founded in 1988, the company employs over 600 people and offers services in automatic data processing and information technology. It is essential for MIC to offer its customers a user-friendly, web-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) suite on a single technological platform. The aim is to implement solutions that seamlessly meet regulatory requirements and manage the complexity of global trade.

Security is a crucial aspect here. MIC and Schrack Seconet have been working closely together for several years. In the new building complex, it was therefore important to rely on Schrack Seconet's proven technology and a reliable and quickly accessible team of technicians who can be on site quickly to address any issues.

Both sides have praised the professionalism and communication since the start of the project. MIC highlights the support provided by the Schrack Seconet team before, during and after the construction phase, as well as the numerous personal discussions and consultations.

About the solution

The project comprised two major areas. The first challenge was to develop a concept that combined access control and intrusion detection. The entire property, including internal security areas (e.g. server rooms), had to be completely secured, while operation had to be as simple as possible for all employees.

Access and surveillance control covered all areas of the building complex and was implemented using Schrack Seconet technology. The SecureAccess/SecuriGate system was installed at 90 control points. This intelligent access management system combines the highest standards of security, cost-effectiveness and ease of use. It is supplemented by professional video surveillance from the SecurVideo system, which is used not only for video surveillance but also as a video intercom and for number plate recognition for the underground car park entrance with vehicle counting. Over 20 cameras are in use for this purpose.

The SecurAlarm system with 100 reporting points and 15 security areas was proposed for the burglar alarm technology.

The second area of security technology comprised the automatic fire alarm system from the Integral IP family. This offers full protection for the entire building, for which 800 detectors were installed throughout the building.

Both areas are monitored by the SecoLOG hazard management system, which integrates the various hazard detection systems and enables central monitoring and operation. In critical situations, SecoLOG IP provides intuitive, secure problem-solving support and guides users through every hazard.
