Jonathan Åkerlund’s path to Schrack Seconet was rather unusual. He gained professional experience in construction, B2B sales, and as a technician at a company specializing in healthcare aids. This role involved frequent assignments across the country—so many, in fact, that he sought a position with less travel and switched to the postal service. On his daily delivery routes, he regularly stopped by the Swedish Schrack Seconet branch. He hit it off with the team right away, and eventually they told him that a position had opened up. Jonathan applied without knowing exactly what the job entailed. Shortly thereafter, he started as a Junior Technical Support Specialist. Ten years later, he heads the Swedish branch.

What has your career journey been like?

“My career path was never straightforward or carefully planned. I just never stopped learning – and that’s exactly what led me here.”

From Tech Enthusiast to Team Builder

What helped him from day one: his technical understanding and his curiosity. He loves to understand systems, troubleshoot issues, and develop solutions – a “nerd,” as he puts it. Today, as Country Manager, he combines technical expertise with leadership. Jonathan has firsthand experience in support, sales, project management, and technology. This broad foundation not only helps him professionally but also shapes his leadership style: He understands the daily challenges his colleagues face, remains open to new demands, and listens attentively. He analyzes market trends just as carefully as internal processes – and instead of dictating solutions, he sets goals and works with his team to find the best way to achieve them.

Growth, relationships, and a workday that’s constantly evolving

The past ten years have been marked by growth: from four employees to nine, a market that has more than doubled in size, and partnerships that in some cases date back to the 1990s. He particularly remembers projects where he was often on-site himself – such as the modernization of a massive system in one of northern Sweden’s largest mines. But what drives him isn’t just technology; it’s the close-knit bonds: with partners, with customers, and above all within the team. He recharges in his free time with his family, mountain biking, in nature, or on a boat.
